The Phrozen Sonic XL 4K 2022 is a professional LCD-based MSLA 3D printer. It is equipped with a custom-made monochrome LCD screen with 4K resolution, which makes it capable of producing accurate prints in rapid times. Its large build area and extreme precision make it ideal for both jewelry design and dental applications. The printer comes mostly assembled, you'll only have to attach the build plate, fasten the resin vat and upload your files to start printing just after unboxing.

The 2022 version has the following improvements:

7. In addition, the DS Slicer supports the high-speed Turbo 3D printing mode and Multi para-slicer. These two functions combined allow users to print up to 2 times faster than on conventional 3D printers for dental practice.
8. Another notable feature of the DS slicer is its automation capabilities. For example, one can easily set up drainage holes on the model or set up the most optimal orientation to ensure reliable printing.

The Sonic XL is an improved yet bigger version of the standard Phrozen Sonic model. It features a larger build area of 190 x 120 x 200 mm, giving you wider design possibilities. Like all the Phrozen resin printers, it is engineered with the proprietary ParaLED optical engine, a powerful system that relies on a parallel UV LED matrix backlight system. The new ParaLED 3.0 engine provides uniform light exposure to the entire build area, delivering high XY accuracy and print quality. It has been specifically designed for working with the self-developed monochrome LCD-type light source. Moreover, a resin heater warms up the entire printing area and air purifying system including a specialized door buffer that clears up resin fumes for enhanced 3D printing experience.

Print quality

The new Phrozen Sonic XL 4K 2022 is a high-resolution professional LCD 3D printer that can print layers at 50 µm with an accuracy of 10 µm. This is particularly great for printing precise jewlery molds, producing high-definition parts with detailed surfaces and clean edges. Thanks to its higher transparency, the LCD speeds up the curing time reaching up to 0.2 seconds per layer.

The stable case along with the precise mechanics and high-quality Z-axis makes for fast printing speed, high accuracy, and repeatability.

The custom-designed monochrome LCD is characterized by high heat and pressure resistance as well as effective thermal dissipation; this guarantees to boost print efficiency and provides longer life time (up to 2,000 printing hours). Covered with a protective FEP film, the LCD requires a plastic scraper to clean the resin vat after printing or remove cured resin stuck on the film or the screen itself.

The climate controlled printing area produces fast and accurate models making this a great choice for rapid prototyping. It also allows one to avoid print failures in low ambient temperatures.

Materials

The Phrozen Sonic XL 4K 2022 model is compatible with a wide range of 405-nm resins, including special dental ones.

Build volume

The new Phrozen Sonic 2022 model lets you print high-resolution parts within a spacious building plate of 7.5 x 4.7 x 7.9 inches (190 x 120 x 200 mm). This allows you to print large parts or smaller items in large quantities in a single printing session.

Printer controls and software

The Sonic XL is Wi-Fi enabled. It is equipped with a big touchscreen for easy standalone operation. 

The printer features a range of connectivity options, giving you the possibility to share your printing files via USB drive file transfer, micro SD, Ethernet, or over Wi-Fi.

The model comes with a free license of the Phrozen's new Dental Synergy slicer by FormWare.
