The EinScan Pro HD is a professional handheld Structured Light 3D scanner for high-quality 3D modeling. Being an upgraded version of the EinScan Pro, this device boasts an incredible capability in capturing high resolution scans, a large scan area, exceptional acquisition speed, and a handful of other useful features. Due to reliable lighting projection hardware and software algorithm, it shows higher efficiency at capturing complex, dark or black color, and casting metal surface with less limitations of scan objects compared to the previous generation of the Einscan Pro series. (Note: for high-quality results with these surfaces we would recommend using a 3D scanning spray such as Aesub). By adopting a new structure light projection module, the stripe pattern scanning which was traditionally used in Fixed Scan Mode is now utilized in Handheld Scan Mode. In addition, with multiple positioning methods, both scanner or object can now be moved during scanning.

The EinScan Pro HD is a lightweight handheld 3D scanner that can easily be taken anywhere thanks to its ergonomic design. Scan accuracy

The EinScan Pro HD is a handheld 3D scanner with outstanding scanning capability, high accuracy, and fast scan speed. It provides different precision and speed levels depending on the mode selected. The Handheld Scan Mode (HD) delivers accuracy of up to 0.045 mm at a speed of up to 3,000,000 points per second (10 fps). The Rapid Scan Mode allows scanning at up to 1,500,000 points per second (30 fps) within the accuracy of up to 0.1 mm, it is meant to scan objects of large size. Finally, the Fixed Scan Mode makes it possible to capture an object in just half a second at the precision level of up to 0.04 mm. Under handheld scanning mode by marker alignment, the volumetric accuracy is up to 0.045mm+0.3mm/m. The optimal operating distance of the scanner is 510 mm.

The EinScan Pro HD offers a large single scan range starting from 209 x 160 mm and up to 310 x 240 mm with a point distance between 0.2 and 3 mm.

Addons

The Color Pack add-on provides you with an additional HD camera that lets you take full-color high-quality scans while also capturing the texture of a scanned object.

The Industrial Pack add-on includes an automatic turntable and a tripod. These dedicated products complete a setup for rapidly-paced scanning of small and medium-sized objects with ultimate high efficiency.

Multiple positioning methods, including feature alignment, marker alignment, turntable coded targets alignment, manual alignment, and texture alignment (available with Color Pack), greatly enhance the scanning efficiency without additional preparation.

Software

The EinScan Pro HD comes with a highly efficient proprietary ExScan Pro software solution. It is a professional software for high-quality professional-grade experience with high scanning speed and data transmission that offers a variety of advanced options for data editing, modeling, and reverse engineering. For instance, it features point clouds generation, meshing, texture alignment, and quality post-processing. 

Moreover, the product is supplied with the Solid Edge SHINING 3D Edition. It is a 3D design software that can be used to assist with reverse engineering, generative design, convergent and synchronous modeling.

As for mesh editing tools, we strongly recommend acquiring the Geomagic Essentials software for its many tools to analyze and clean mesh data. Scan data is often-times imperfect, meaning there might be holes and imperfections in the data that you'll be scratching your head on how to fix. The ExScan software and SolidEdge does have a toolkit for fixing meshes but it is not as extensive or automatic as the tools in Geomagic Essentials. You will save a lot of time with the full Scan to CAD process with Geomagic Essentials in between, not to mention it is much more effective at working with large files. The standard CAD software suites such as Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, etc. tend to have problems with large-sized mesh files.

There are two ways the Geomagic Essentials can help with reverse engineering. If your focus is on solid modeling, you can use the GE to extract CAD data (surfaces and solids) and curve data (wire-frame geometry) from triangular meshes (scan data). The region and feature extraction toolkit will help you extract faces or bounded surfaces and export into an IGES or STP format. The curve drawing tools will help you extract wire-frame geometry and export to IGES format. These two datasets along with the scan file are essential for efficiency in a reverse engineering workflow. The NURBS surfacing tool also helps create a lightweight CAD model that you can export to an STP file for SolidWorks. This is especially helpful if your focus is on free-form modeling because you can freely manipulate the surface data in the Geomagic and most CAD programs. 

Having such powerful tools at your disposal, you will be in a strong position to execute even complex projects with higher scanning efficiency.
