The DOBOT Magician Lite Model is a smaller version of a kid-friendly, multifunctional lightweight desktop robotic arm able to grab, write, classify objects, and more. Compared to the Basic and Educational Models, the Lite version is highly compact and easy-to-handle, which makes it perfect for school and home application.

Targeted to both children and adults, the DOBOT Magician is user-friendly and safe. Still, it is affordable and space-saving, fitting almost any desks. It dramatically improves teaching efficiency providing an immediate yet pleasant learning experience to anyone.

The DOBOT Magician is engineered with a visualized programming interface, which includes a drag-and-drop feature for easy coding. This means it can be easily deployed from an application to another by anyone in no time. It shows a rugged design made of anodized aluminum alloy and ABS engineering plastic, which makes it durable and lightweight. Depending on the model, it can be equipped with several end-tools, being able to perform multiple tasks, namely drawing, grippin, pick&place, etc. Moreover, it features different controlling methods for more convenient use.

The Lite Model features a built-in air pump for a cleaner environment as well as integrated AI smart camera and microphone for smoother control. Processing quality

The DOBOT Magician Lite is a cost-effective 4-axis desktop robotic arm. The positioning repeatability of up to 0.2 mm is a remarkable feature for the price. The arm is engineered with an accurate stepper motor with a gear reducer for smoother operation. The Lite Model can lift objects weighing up to 250 g. The rotation servo joint can reach a maximum speed of 480°/s, all other joints feature a maximum speed of 320°/s.

The DOBOT Magician supports secondary development through more than 20 programming languages and 13 programmable I/O ports, allowing for a variety of improvements and applications.

Applications

The DOBOT Magician Lite Model supports a variety of end-use tools. According to the task, you can simply replace the tool, teach the arm how to move and start working. Indeed, it can easily turn into a gripper, a drawer, and more.

Pick and place

The gripper module works in a range of 27.5 mm. It features a pneumatic drive type with a force of 8N. The suction cup has a diameter of 20 mm and a pressure of -35 Kpa. 

The arm is capable of picking and placing products of up to 250 g with high precision. Luckily, the Lite Model comes with the Building Block kit allowing you to explore this function in full measure.

Writing and drawing

The pen holder supports up to 10 mm in diameter. It is capable of writing and drawing anything you want, providing high design flexibility.

Education

The DOBOT Magician Lite version provides a complete curriculum system divided into three stages: from beginner-level to advanced learner-level. With a variety of teaching demos, the user can focus on experiential, project-based, and exploratory-based learning.

Working range

The arm has a maximum reach of 340 mm, which allows performing a variety of different tasks. The axis movement varies from joint to joint. The base rotates within a range of -135° to + 135°, the rear arm rotates from -5° to +80°, the forearm from -10° to +85°, while the rotation servo from +135° to -135°.

Robot controls

The DOBOT Magician Lite provides several controlling modes. Suitable for both newbies and experts, it features easy-to-use controls (drag & drop interface) as well as more advanced ones (serial port SDK and motion control interface). 

The Magician Lite Model also features an external controller called “Magic Box”. It separates motion control algorithms and user tasks to make programming and creating even more convenient. Moreover, the robot supports Bluetooth connection.

You can operate the robotic arm via PC, mobile APP, Voice, Gesture, Vision, and Mind Control EEG. This means you can control it by Programming, APP, Bluetooth, Mouse, AI Smart Camera, etc. It uses C/C and Processing as primary languages.

The machine includes some programmable and extensible I/O Interfaces, including UART, Reset, Stop, 12V, 5V and two I/O.

The robotic arm works with several applications, including DobotScratch, MicroPython, and DobotBlockly (Visual Programming editor).

The DOBOT Magician Lite Model is available in a black and white color combo with yellow trimmings. Its stylish look makes it ideal for home and educational use.
