Print quality

The Phrozen Sonic Mega 8K S is a large-format LCD 3D printer that can print layers at a minimum layer height of 10 microns, with an XY positioning accuracy of 43 µm. This way, you can produce objects with extremely smooth exterior surfaces and fine detailing.

Just like with the original Mega 8K model, the powerful industry-leading 15" 8K monochrome LCD screen makes for the unprecedented quality of outputs produced with the device.

Materials

The Phrozen Sonic Mega 8K S 3D printer offers a variety of materials to choose from. It is compatible with both self-developed and 3rd party 405 nm UV resins. The manufacturer’s resin profile database includes ready-made profiles for 20+ different resins, including ABS-like Resin, TR250 High Temp Resin, Nylon-Green Tough Resin and a variety of Castable Resins.

Moreover, the Mega 8K S is equipped with a built-in all-metal drip hanger providing a safer and more efficient way to save resin and avoid messy drops all around your workspace. By letting resin drip on an angle after printing, this device saves every tiny bit of material and makes it easier to clean the build plate.

Build volume

The Phrozen Sonic Mega 8K S offers a large build area of 330 x 185 x 300 mm (13 x 7.3 x 11.8 in) that lets you make a single huge model as a whole or simultaneously print multiple smaller ones. Equipped with a 15" perforated build plate, the Mega 8K S is your best choice when it comes to mass production, since the printer can comfortably fit up to 80 of these 1/32 soldier models in one batch.

Printer controls and software

The Sonic Mega 8K S can be controlled via a built-in 3.5" LCD touch panel with a clear menu structure and user-friendly interface. Data input is performed through the USB port on the front of the device.

The printer can interact with almost any format and is compatible with CHITUBOX — 3D data preparation software optimized to work with SLA/DLP/LCD 3D printers. The slicer is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Look and feel
